Hydrate inhibitor

General

Designed to inhibit gas hydrate formation in highly pressurized systems operating at relatively low temperatures. Modifies the properties of the water present and the crystal-formation temperature in gas lines, keeping them in solution even when the thermodynamic conditions for formation are reached.

Application

Onshore and offshore installations in the North, South and Marine Regions: gas intake and compression systems, conduction lines, regulation packages.

Uses and benefits

Maintains continuity of gas intake and compression, prevents deferred production from plugging, prevents internal pipeline damage and reduces maintenance costs, shutdowns and the risk of removing hydrates.

Recommended dosage

Laboratory tests as a function of pressure, salinity, water content and system temperature. Optimized by observing line pressure or pig-run results; additional injection points where water condensation is observed.

Packaging and storage

200-liter plastic drums, 1,000-liter high-density polyethylene containers with metal cage, or stainless steel containers. Store in a cool, ventilated place, protected from direct sun and rain, with containers closed when not in use. Review the product safety data sheet.
